About Marc de Bruyn
Marc de Bruyn is the founder and director of MDB Law, a fintech-first legal practice focused on regulatory licensing, payment laws and compliance innovation across Africa’s fast-evolving fintech and digital payments landscape.
Based in Paarl, with satellite offices in Pretoria and Cape Town, Marc combines a strong academic foundation with extensive practical experience in financial regulation. He holds BA (Law) and LLB degrees from the University of Stellenbosch, a Master’s in Banking Law from UNISA and an International Diploma in Financial Technology from the University of Oxford. His professional development includes advanced certifications in over-the-counter derivatives, ADLA and crypto licensing, commercial M&A, and fintech compliance frameworks.
